Pre-Arrival Checklist
Ensure you have agreed your house rules (see below)
Ensure everyone is happy with each other's COVID vaccination status
Ensure your welcome pack is ready including the door key, wifi codes, toiletries etc. Top tip. Try not to leave it as a gift but more in situ so that it is more discreet
Contact environmental health if you have not already had your home visit carried out
Consider taking time off in the first couple of weeks to be there for your guest as support as they adapt to their new environment
Be aware of local Ukrainian support or other guests already arrived as sometimes a native tongue is the most important thing for guests to hear
Create a guide detailing how to work all devices in a home such as heating
Consider having on hand relevant adaptors to allow charging of their devices
House rules - what should you consider?
Are there any restrictions around using shared facilities? Including wifi, kitchens, bathrooms?
Will your guest have free access to the home?
Is your guest able to have visitors into the home and are there any restrictions around this?
Will you allow drinking, smoking or drugs in your home?
Are there any limits in terms of making noise in the evening etc?
How will you co-ordinate/share cooking, laundry and house chores
Do you want to eat together or separately, and if separately, are you happy for your guests to eat in their room
